Your website assignment will include embedding your Soundslides project into a page on your site. Click HERE for a tutorial on how to do that.

Here are the requirements for the website assignment:

  • 5 web pages in your website
  • MUST USE DREAMWEAVER
  • 1 Home, 1 About Me, 1 Resume, 1 Multimedia, 1 Free (whatever you want)
  • Each page must include links.
  • Four of the five (excluding resume page) must include media of some sort (picture or multimedia)
  • Must have a Soundslides presentation (can be your previous Soundslides assignment) on your Multimedia page
  • MAKE SURE ALL LINKS WORK BEFORE GIVING ME THE SITE ON A JUMP DRIVE.

How to use Soundslides

Right before spring break we went over a program called Soundslides. Below you will find some tutorial videos on using this program. But first, this link HERE will take you to a site that will show you how to convert your finished Soundslides project into an MP4 video file that is able to be uploaded to YouTube. You will find the actual Soundslides converter by clicking HERE.

Some tips for podcasting

This week we will be discussing what a podcast is and how to create one using Audacity, copyleft music and Podomatic.

Below are some references to help you use Audacity. I’ve also linked to a podcast on Podomatic. Your podcast should be linked on your own blog after it is finished.

I’ll discuss everything you need to know in class but check out these links and tutorials below. The last one is my podcast, which will also be an in-class assignment.

Here is a video on editing audio in Audacity:

Here is a video on getting and using LAME, which is a plugin used by Audacity to create MP3 files. You need to be able to create MP3 files in order to upload your podcast online.

Here is a link to the Audacity wiki, if you need help:

And here is the Audacity online manual:

And finally, click on this link HERE to hear my podcast that is being hosted by Podomatic.

How to get started in WordPress

Here are a couple of videos that will help you in creating your blogs. The first two are tutorials on getting started in WordPress. Watch them if you need a refresher on anything we did in class the other night.

Here is another video that will show you how to embed YouTube videos in your blog.

My first blog post

This is not really my first blog post, but it looks like it is.

I just wanted to create this post as a way to show you what Zemanta can do to help you create relevant links to your specific blog content.

This post is for ETSU multimedia production. I really hope this class will be useful to you
